When non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment is no longer performing as it should be, the question on every owner’s mind is often the same, repair or upgrade? Our short and simple answer is this: upgrade! If you want to know more about each option – and why we think upgrading is the ideal choice – find out more below:

Upgrading

When you’re dealing with old NDT equipment, upgrading is always the best choice. This type of equipment is used in fast-paced, dynamic work environments that are always looking for the next best thing. NDT equipment needs to be able to keep up with the demands of these industries which is why there are constant advances with the hardware and software of the equipment. Due to these advances, we believe that choosing to upgrade your NDT equipment is a much smarter move for your business’ operations. Repairing your NDT equipment may allow the equipment to last longer, but it will put you behind competitors in terms of technology.

Repairing

While we may recommend getting an upgrade, there is still the option of repairs. This may be the ideal choice in situations when dealing with issues presented by new equipment as an upgrade would be unnecessary. For some individuals and businesses, upgrades are not the right option due to many reasons, including cost. There is no doubt that upgrading your NDT equipment is initially a much more expensive choice than repairs; however, in the long run, upgrades will prove to be highly cost-effective.
